Iron Side Division All cadets Saturday, August 13th drill is at the Kroc Center, 1865 Bill Frey Dr NE, Salem, OR 97301. Bring 5.00 for the swimming as well as lunch or additional money for lunch. Uniform of the day is P.T. gear, bring swimming trunks for males and a 1 piece swimsuit for females. If females show up in a 2 piece you will be sent home. Drill is at 0800, thank you.

To inform you all first the Saturday 11th u will all meet at the American Legion in McMinville At 7:30 AM Promptly Unless you are cadets in Salem then you will ride with me to Portland for the Rose Parade. We will all meet in Portland at 930 Sharp. So it is imperative that you are all there on time So that all the officers can leave by 0815.

On The 12th Drill will be held at the American Legion Hall in McMinnville again starting at 0745. Going till 1600. Now again Salem cadets will be brought to drill by the CO. The color guard needs to practice and get ready to go to the Elks in Kaiser for the Flag Day Ceremonies. Starting at 1300 so u all will leave at 1200. Also Everyone needs to be in there Whites and have there sea Bag fully packed with a copy of their sea bag list for there boot camp.

If you do not show and not been properly excused by ME (CO) then your training will be forfeited and no refund given. This is the only time we are going to meet to make sure everything is in order.

There is no ifs ands or but's about it.

Both days are whites.

Drill is on May 14th we are meeting in the American Legion in McMinnville the address is 126 NE Atlantic St McMinnville OR for those who need a ride from McMinnville meet at 7 am. We have a Rig Was in the Elks Lodge at 4250 Cherry Ave NE Keizer OR for those who do not need a ride and who does not make it by 7 am. The Uniform of the day is Dungaress but bring all your uniforms and sea bag. Make sure you also have a ride back home we will not provide one unless you got a ride from McMinnville.

To all, Cadets

The C.O.s of the base were approached today by a retired Army Colonel that volunteers his time at the Veterans Home located in the Dalles. Currently there are about 115 veterans residing on the premises. Most of them have families located far away and do not receive many visitors over the holidays. The CPO Mess is conducting a fund raiser to provide gifts to the coasties that reside at the home.

I am soliciting to see if any units want to donate items such as goodies, signed Christmas cards, etc. A couple of the CPOs will be taking the items on the 21st of DEC to the home. If you have cadets that you think would benefit from the experience I can take a few with me. If you have any questions please let me know.

November 11th is Veterans day, all cadets available to come and help out with the colors location is the American Legion in McMinnville at 0600 hrs everyone is required to wear Dress Blues only. Everyone that is going to Flagship needs to bring 45.00 for the event and all other individuals that were told that their dues are up please bring your dues of 80.00.

Tickets for the fundraiser: If you have money from the sales of the tickets please bring and give to your Operations Officer Sonia Uscanga and she will give you more books if you would like.

We will also going over the information, gear and other details about Flagship. All parents of the individuals that are going to Flagship need to sign orders. Please have them do this on Sunday evening. (If paperwork is not completed and parents don't sign the training orders you will not be able to go to the event.)

Greetings Everyone,

I received half of the package from the Rose Festival Committee this weekend I am still waiting for our numbers and judging criteria.

Muster Time is 1005-1015 and muster in the south lot of the Memorial Coliseum. Drop off is located on the corner of North Larabee Ave. and North Broadway Ave. We are #63 and I am not exactly sure where they are going to line us up at. All the groups will be mustering in and around the Memorial Colosseum. We have a step off time at 1115 and finish time of 1305. We will be disbanding at PGE park on the corners of 20/21 Ave. and Salmon Street.

Portland Division is providing a color guard.
Does any other unit have a banner to carry out front?

I will scan the maps at work tomorrow and email them out tomorrow evening.

I will be arriving early to locate out line up position feel free to call once you have arrived in the area.

Okay ther has been a little confusion as far as what is happening when we return from camp this weekend.

So we are comeierng home on the evening of the 30th we will be staying at the TO house and at PO2 Adams house sexs are going to be split and have a camp out. On the 31st the color gaurd will go do their color gaurd duties for the tribe and the rest of the unit is going to put up Flags on the bridge. After the unit is going to be engaged in a car wash extravagansa at the ford dealership in Mack until it is time to take down the colors of the bridge. Sea Cadet training, competitions within the units, activities to encourage commeraderie, teamwork and unity within the program. We really encourage all Cadets to participate. This camp will cost $30 which includes transportation, room and board.

Meadowood Springs Speech and Hearing Camp Clean- Up
Pendleton, Oregon
Ironside Division Cadets will be cleaning, repairing, painting, etc. the camp for the Elks. We will also have extra training and recreational activities planned during the times that we are not working on the campgrounds. Cost for this event is $30.00 and includes transportation, room and board.

Please notify us as soon as possible if your Cadet is able to participate in any of these activities so we are able to plan accordingly.

Ladies and gents I have graded all of the assingments that have been turned in. For the most part you all have passed and some of you pay more attention. At the moment no one has to retake the assingments but if your over all score is below a 3.2 then you will. If any one has any assingments that they want to submit to me do so via email at the Division Email submit them in word so I can print them off.

Today was day one of the January meeting. Overall it was an awesome, packed day. 4 of our Cadets were chosen to present the colors at the Funeral of the Regional Director of Sea Cadet's son, Christopher, we wish to offer our condolences to the family and to tell them that our prayers are with them.
